PRESS: Foreign ministry says 150,000 foreigners receive e-visa
MOSCOW, Dec 25 (PRIME) -- Russia’s unified electronic visa has already been issued for 150,000 foreigners, including E.U. citizens, Deputy Foreign Minister Yevgeny Ivanov said in an interview with daily Komsomolskaya Pravda published on Monday.
“The unified e-visa project was launched this August,” Ivanov said, adding that Russia expects the number of tourists from the E.U. to rise 50% on the year in 2023.
Ivanov also said that the number of e-visas obtained by citizens of several countries has already exceeded the number of ‘paper’ visas issued by Russian foreign authorities in these counties for the same period.
Russia launched the e-visa service on August 1 for the people of 55 states, including China, India, Iran, and Turkey. The e-visa is valid for 60 days, while staying in the country is limited to 16 days from the entry date.
